Agricultural Program of the HRND of Siem Reap

The Agricultural Program of the Human Resource and Natural Development (HRND) of Siem Reap, Cambodia is designed to provide training to fully utilize their directly available resources.

The goal of the Agricultural Program is to train the farmers to become self-sufficient in growing their own crops and nurturing their livestock, to enable them to earn an income for the survival of their families.

There are four main areas that Human Resource and Natural Development Organisation are targeting in their program.

Rice Crop
To grow the crop as efficiently and economically as possible with an aim to achieving a maximum output each year.

Nourish Animals
To improve the health of the livestock by providing the farmers with an understanding the importance and benefits of various grazing methods.

Rice Bank
The Rice Bank provides all the villagers in times of need with rice. The purpose of the Rice Bank is to allow the villagers access to rice, which must be replenished in times of harvest. The Rice Bank works the same way as a financial bank, however the money here is the rice.

Construction of Moats and Dams
The program will provide training for the farmers in how to properly construct moats and dams. The layout of the moats and dams are essential for the irrigation of the land after the main DAM is built.

The Agricultural Program of the Human Resource and Natural Development (HRND) of Siem Reap, Cambodia focus on these 4 goals.
